Ballew appoints ASBC Evaluation Team
At the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting, ASBC President Steve Ballew announced the appointment of a team to evaluate the structure of the state convention.
When the ASBC was reorganized in 2001, we agreed every five years to evaluate the structure "and make sure that it's accomplishing the strategy and make sure we're doing what we need to for Arizona Southern Baptists," Ballew said. The Evaluation Team will work throughout 2010 and make recommendations for any changes at the 2010 annual meeting next November.
Scott Barber, a member of Trinity, Casa Grande, is team chairman. Team members are Byron Banta, retired pastor of Corona, Chandler; Bret Burnett, pastor of Mountain View, Tucson; Jim Doyle, pastor of Foothills, Yuma; Ron Gilliland, pastor of First Southern, Elfrida, and God's Country, Tucson; Numa Gomez, associate pastor of First Southern, Avondale; John Guillott, Catalina Association director of evangelism/missions; Brian LeStourgen, pastor of First Southern, Camp Verde; Monty Patton, pastor of Mountain Ridge, Glendale; and Tommy Thomas, River Valley director of evangelism/missions. State Missionary Steve Bass and Ballew are ex-officio team members.
