The Cooperative Program
--Making A Difference
Cooperative Program (CP) Missions--
How it works
Simply put, it begins with you. You give yourself first to God (2 Cor. 5:8). Next, out of gratitude and obedience to God for what He has done for you, you commit to give back to Him, through your church, a portion of what He provides. This is commonly called a tithe and represents ten percent of your income (Lev. 27:30, Mal. 3:10).

CP gifts help buy portable baptistry
Thanks to Arizona Southern Baptist churches' gifts through the Cooperative Program, Scott Gourley, pastor of The Way Fellowship Church, Glendale, is now able to baptize new believers during a regular church worship service. With the assistance of Cooperative Program funds from the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, Estrella Baptist Association recently purchased a portable baptistry for use by nine new churches not meeting in traditional church buildings.
"[Previously], we've only been able to baptize during the summer months in one of our member's pool," Gourley said. "The portable baptistry allows us to baptize throughout the year and provides us an additional element to our Sunday morning worship services. ... Now nonbelieving visitors are actually able to see the gospel come to life as we baptize those who have recently committed their lives to Jesus."
Your Cooperative Program gifts in action
More than 385 people from at least 55 Arizona Southern Baptist churches attended NET 21 at CrossPoinTempe Church March 24. This Sunday School/Bible study leader training event, co-sponsored by the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention and LifeWay Christian Resources, focused on “teaching that changes lives.” The gifts of Arizona Southern Baptist churches through the Cooperative Program helped provide this event.
